The department of Cundinamarca constitutes a territory with a variety of geographic and ecosystem conditions that make it one of the regions with the greatest diversity of birds in the country. Chaparro-Herrera et al. made a record of 941 species in the department, which represents almost 50% of the species registered in the country.

We will take this tour in Monterredondo, a legendary site for having the largest record of birds in Cundinamarca in 2018. In this place, the Cundinamarca Tororoi (Grallaria kaestneri) was discovered, described by Gary Stiles in 1992, an endemic and endangered species, according to the Red Book of Birds of Colombia.

Among others we will have as observation objectives: Yellow-headed Caracara, American Kestrel, Russet-backed Oropendola, Cundinamarca Antpitta, Brown-breasted Parakeet, Masked Flowerpiercer, Blue-capped Tanager, Green Jay.

Practical tips will be useful when observing birds. The color of your clothing should not be bright colors (such as orange or red), on the contrary it should be dark so that it can blend in with the environment.

Wake up early, the best times for bird watching are between 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. and the end of the afternoon, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Binoculars and bird guide, although the basic equipment for observing birds is the eyes and ears, good binoculars and a pocket guide to birds of the region visited are required.

Walk slowly in silence and observe, bird watching is a task of patience and silence, in fact a bird can be identified by observation or by its song.
