Hike to the Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita and Visit to a Muisca Indigenous Reservation

We will travel to Guatavita, we will have a wonderful walk through the Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita located at 3100 meters above sea level, with a local guide, who will teach us about the Legend of Dorado, this charming lagoon called by the indigenous people as the navel of the world.

We will also have the opportunity to enjoy the town and we will have a delicious lunch, we will gain energy and we will continue to visit the Muisca Indigenous Cabildo, we will learn about its cosmogony and teachings.

At 3100 meters above sea level, we can contemplate the beautiful Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita, where the natural charm and its history will surprise you. Payments and ceremonies were held there, where the new leaders were adorned and bathed in gold and then immersed in the crystalline and magical waters of the lagoon, a legend that is part of our beliefs and ancient cultural roots

Sesquilé

Sesquilé in Muysc Cubun (Muisca language), means Boquerón de la arroyada or Hot Water. This beautiful municipality is known as the cradle of dorado, a space that exalts and preserves the living history of the Muisca culture.

Muisca Indigenous Council

This Cabildo in Muysc Cubun (Muisca language), means "ie canuca mysua" (path that crosses dreams), we will be able to visit the Cusmui (Muisca sacred house), an emblematic place where the history and great work of the leader Carlos Mamanche is recognized.

This trail is level 2 (low). Ideal for people who are starting to hike or want to go out and enjoy nature with easy walking trails. A distance of 7 km will be walked in 3 hours. Maximum height 3,100 m.a.s.l.
