Dare to take on this great challenge and get to know the powerful summit of Nevado del Tolima in the Nevados National Park. We will begin this great journey from the Cócora Valley in the department of Quindío.

Day 1

We begin our incredible journey from Salento in the department of Quindío to receive a paisa-style breakfast. Continuing with our itinerary, we will arrive at the beautiful Cocora Valley where we will begin our first day of hiking that will take us to the Primavera farm passing through Andean forests and cloud forests. We will spend our first night at Finca Primavera.

Day 2

Very early in the morning we will begin our journey to the base camp, we will pass through the Estrella de Agua moor located at 3,100 meters high. We will have our snack deep in the Andean paramos.

Day 3

In the early morning of our day 3, we will begin our ascent to Nevado del Tolima or Dulima as our indigenous people called it. If weather conditions allow, we will be able to appreciate a spectacular sunrise while we travel along the snow-capped glacier located at 5,276 meters above sea level until we finally reach the top of Dulima. After having reached the summit, we return to Finca Primavera to prepare for our descent.

Day 4

We will have breakfast at Finca la Primavera and we will prepare to carry out the last stage of our journey, we will descend to the Cocora Valley and return to the city of Pereira.

This journey is of a high level of difficulty, recommended only for people who practice high-performance hiking.

😷 Carry a PPE Personal Protection Elements Kit (Masks, antibacterial gel, alcohol in a spray bottle, glasses or mask, disposable tissues, bag for personal waste disposal).

💧 It is important to carry a bottle of water and maintain constant hydration, we will go on long walks and maintaining hydration is healthy.

🧢 Wear a hat or cap to protect yourself from the sun. It is important to use sunscreen, remember to use a mineral sunscreen for your face.

👕 Pack enough clothes for three days. We suggest avoiding the use of cotton clothing and wearing synthetic fiber clothing that allows quick drying, in general special clothing for high mountains: jacket, quick-drying pants, wool hat, gloves, glasses with UV filter. Don't forget your change of clothes in case you get wet or muddy.

🥾 Wear comfortable shoes, preferably hiking shoes, in any case avoid ballet shoes or cloth tennis shoes. It is important to bring a change of shoes in case your shoes get wet during the tour.

💊 Bring your medications and personal documents (medical insurance card and ID).

🎒 Don't use a wheeled suitcase. Carry a hands-free backpack to store all the luggage that must be well distributed in plastic bags. Bring a small backpack so you can take your personal items on hikes.

🔦 We suggest bringing a blanket for the cold in the early morning when leaving Bogotá and a flashlight.
