Join us on this journey in Chingaza, a natural sanctuary very close to Bogotá that will connect us with nature and our ancestors.
The Chingaza National Natural Park is a natural and cultural treasure in Colombia. Here lies the magic of the Andes mountains, preserving secrets and thoughts of our ancient Muisca civilization. Chingaza is a refuge for fauna and flora in an ecosystem of high Andean forest, sub-paramo, and paramo, with countless water sources that supply almost 70% of the water needed to supply more than 10 million inhabitants of Bogotá and more than 11 municipalities in Cundinamarca.
🌱 Marvel at the incredible landscape from the viewpoint where you can glimpse the Siecha Lakes.
🌱 Break free from routine and embark on this path full of life and nature.
🌱 You might encounter the White-tailed Deer or the Andean Bear while walking in their habitat.
🌱 Learn about the history of our ancestors and the importance of this place to them.
🌱 Enjoy the mist that envelops this incredible landscape.
We'll depart from Bogotá very early to meet our environmental interpreter, who belongs to the communities surrounding the park and will accompany us throughout the tour of the Chingaza National Natural Park. Upon our arrival at the park, we'll have an introductory talk and learn more about its extent, fauna, flora, and ecological importance.
Then, we'll start our hike along the circuit towards the Siecha Lakes, where we'll be able to feel the tranquility of nature and have the opportunity to learn about the fauna and flora of this wonderful place. Our guide will tell us about some plant species, their characteristics, and uses. We'll also have conversations about the rural customs and stories of the Muisca communities in this territory.
We'll learn about the importance of the paramo ecosystem and enjoy a spectacular view of the Siecha Lakes from an incredible viewpoint. Additionally, we'll have the opportunity to escape the city for an adventure amidst the mountains in the Andes.
