One-day tour to Nevado del Ruíz Volcano and Valley of the Tombs

Our tour begins in the city of Pereira or Manizales, along the way we will stop to have breakfast, then we will visit the beautiful Laguna Negra. We continue our journey to the Brisas sector, the gateway to the Los Nevados National Natural Park, where we will carry out the entry process and receive the induction to the protected area by national park officials. We will enter the park by vehicle and we will have some environmental interpretation stops at the points: Aguacerales – Arenales – Lunar Valley and Valley of the Tombs, we ascend the mountain we can appreciate the changes in the ecosystem until we reach a magical place called Valley of the Tombs, mystical space and of great importance for the Quimbaya worldview.

Then we will descend and have a delicious lunch and then head to the Autumn Hot Springs, where we can rest from the day and relax in its warm thermal waters. Then we board the transport again to return to Manizales or Pereira.

Black Lagoon

This is a strategic space for the conservation of the environmental and cultural heritage of the high páramo region that belongs to the Coffee Region, at 3760 meters above sea level this beautiful lagoon of glacial origin is located, it is one of the sources of the Chinchiná River and is home to various migratory bird species.

Los Nevados National Natural Park

In the heart of the Coffee Region is the protected area Los Nevados National Natural Park, founded in 1974, in order to contribute to the environmental conservation of ecosystems of global interest such as: Super-páramos, páramos, sub- paramos, lagoons, wetlands and high Andean forests, with great cultural and ethnic value of the Quimbaya indigenous people.

Autumn Hot Springs

At the Termales El Autumn aquapark you can rest and take a bath in the thermal waters, where you can enjoy 4 wells with water attractions such as slides.

💧 It is important to carry a bottle of water and maintain constant hydration, we will go on long walks and maintaining hydration is healthy.

🧢 Wear a hat or cap to protect yourself from the sun. It is important to use sunscreen, at this altitude the sun's rays are more powerful, which is why sun protection is very important. Also in the snow it is very important to protect your eyes, it is necessary to wear sunglasses.

👕 We suggest clothing to protect yourself from the cold: jacket, quick-drying pants, wool hat, gloves, glasses with UV filter. Don't forget your change of clothes in case you get wet.

👙🩳 Bring a bathing suit to enjoy the hot springs, a towel and a change of clothes.

1) For good acclimatization, keep the vehicle windows open during ascent and descent,

2) Bundle up as you ascend,

3) Make acclimatization stops at different heights along the route. This way you can also observe the change of landscape and wildlife that inhabits each ecosystem,

4) Walk slowly,

5) Apply sunscreen every three hours,

6) Follow the recommendations of the officials of the National Natural Park and guides authorized by the institution.
