We will leave from Bogotá very early. On our trip we will have the chance to see the incredible landscape of Boyacá. We will have breakfast on the way. First we will visit the charming Pueblito Boyacense where we will learn about the traditional architecture and some traditions from the colonial era. We will continue our trip to Nobsa, a traditional town and factory of traditional Boyacá ruanas. We will finish our tour in Monguí where we will settle in our hotel, have lunch and get ready to visit the cloister and have a tour led by our local guide. To end the day, travelers can tour the town, have a coffee or try some of the desserts.

The next day, we will get up very early to have breakfast and begin our adventure in the Páramo de Siscunsí. We will leave the town in a 4x4 Jeep that will take us to the beginning of the trail and entrance to the moor. From there we will begin the ascent where we will be able to walk in the middle of a great diversity of frailejones, this is a 14 km trek to Las Lagunas that reflect the imposing La Pedregosas rock outcrops.

After this fascinating tour we will return to the town to pack and organize our return trip to Bogotá.

Boyacese Town

In Duitama we will visit Pueblito boyacense. There stands a village that evokes the architecture of seven towns in Boyacá: Villa de Leyva, Tibasosa, Tenza, El Cocuy, Sáchica, Monguí and Ráquira. In this place, local culture is highlighted in gastronomy, music, crafts and dance.

Nobsa

The capital of wool, an emblematic place for its artisans and interesting stories and creation of desserts.

Mongui

The most beautiful town in Boyacá and one of the Heritage Towns of Colombia, if you are wondering what to do in Monguí, the possibilities are many. It is a charming town thanks to its architecture and history. Famous for its beauty, the bearing with which farmers wear the traditional ruana and producer of the soccer ball.

Historical Museum Tour

From the main square of Monguí the guide will give us a brief historical overview of the town. We will visit the cloister of our lady of Monguí, where a local expert will tell us through the paintings about the different stories and facts referring to the Colonial era.

Siscunsí Paramo

To the south east of Sogamosos, between valleys of frailejones, where birds sing and rocks stand out, being the home of emblematic species of Colombia such as the Andean condor, the largest flying bird in the world, representative of the symbolism in Colombia.

💧 It is important to carry a bottle of water and maintain constant hydration, we will go on long walks and maintaining hydration is healthy.

🧢 Wear a hat or cap to protect yourself from the sun. It is important to use sunscreen, remember to use a mineral sunscreen for your face.

👕 Pack enough clothes for two days. Comfortable, waterproof and breathable clothing. The weather is cold and quite variable with chances of rain. Use clothing that dries quickly, do not use cotton clothing. Remember the theory of 3 layers: 1. A dry layer, second skin; 2. A warm, warm layer; 3. A layer of protection, “waterproof shell”. Don't forget your change of clothes in case you get wet or muddy.

🥾 Wear comfortable shoes, preferably hiking shoes, with good grip. It is important to bring a change of shoes in case your shoes get wet during the tour, consider wearing rubber boots and change shoes.

💊 Bring your medications and personal documents (medical insuranc card and ID).

🎒 Don't use a wheeled suitcase. Carry a hands-free backpack to store all the luggage that must be well distributed in plastic bags. Bring a small backpack so you can take your personal items on hikes.
