Villa de Leyva, with its colonial architecture, is famous for its historical charm and its Plaza Mayor, one of the largest in Latin America. The welcome dinner and technical briefing provide an introduction to the experience that is about to begin. Gambita, a natural paradise, is the destination of the first stage. Along the way, cyclists will experience a magical descent towards La Palma, refueling with a peasant lunch next to the Manto de la Virgen waterfall, a natural jewel framed by spectacular landscapes. Las Gachas, known for its natural jacuzzis, is the destination after visiting waterfalls like La Humeadora and enjoying the unique experience of the Caballeros waterfall. Las Gachas offer a well-deserved rest in a stunning natural environment. Guadalupe, with its central square and welcoming streets, marks the beginning of a challenging route to Simacota. Chimá offers a typical lunch, and resting in its squares invites you to connect with the authenticity of the towns of Santander. Barichara, considered the most beautiful town in Colombia, will be the final goal. With its monumental ceiba tree and colonial roads, every corner of Barichara breathes history and charm. Dinner will be a celebration in this picturesque setting.

Villa de Leyva:

The Chicamocha Canyon:

Also known as the Chicamocha Canyon or Páramo de Santurbán, it is a majestic geological formation located in the department of Santander, Colombia. With depths exceeding 2,000 meters, this canyon is one of the largest and deepest in South America. Its landscape offers impressive panoramic views, with towering cliffs, deep valleys and the Chicamocha River winding through this amazing gorge.

The ally is not responsible for flight cancellations, changes in itineraries and other events outside the service, such as flights and/or ground transportation.

The initial 30% payment for quota separation is NOT refundable for any reason.

Recommendations

  • Adapt your diet to the type of effort you make. Eat light and frequent meals.
  • Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear.
  • Take protective measures against environmental factors such as heat, cold, water, sun, height, and terrain. Be especially careful when doing intense activities in very hot environments.
  • Do warm-up exercises (5-10 minutes) and stretching. This way you reduce the risk of injuries and minimize the possibility of cardiovascular complications.
  • Every 200 km it is advisable to carry out a complete inspection of your bicycle.

  • Carry your cell phone charged, this will allow you to take photographs and use it in case of emergency.
