Boyacá Salvaje: Epic Trekking between hills, caves, caverns and waterfalls

Day 1:

Start your weekend of adventure by leaving Bogotá early towards the municipality of Borbur. We will do an exciting trekking in two emblematic mountains that also hide indigenous stories, these are the Fura and Tena hills. We will talk about indigenous culture and its relationship with these sacred hills. At the end of the afternoon we will rest in a quiet and comfortable accommodation to recharge our batteries.

Day 2:

We will wake up early to explore the captivating Las Cacas cavern, home to the fascinating species of birds known as guácharos. Live an unforgettable adventure as we ascend and descend through waterfalls until we reach the majestic "El Pailón de Oro" waterfall. Take the opportunity to marvel at this impressive natural spectacle. Return to Bogotá with lasting memories of a trip full of nature and excitement.

Municipality of San Pablo de Borbur

This is a land that was once jungle and wasteland. In 1911, Francisco Fernández established a hacienda here, growing sugar cane, rice and cotton, taking advantage of the labor of the few remaining indigenous people. Otanche, one of the main emporiums of Boyacá. Fura and Tena Hills

The legend inspired by these exotic rock pillars is based on a real, already mythological, couple of the ancestors of the indigenous Muiscas who populated this region of the Andes centuries before the Muzos. 🔦 Bring a flashlight. We suggest bringing a blanket for the cold in the early morning when leaving Bogotá, repellent and a flashlight
